How much notice must I give?
- If your tenancy started before 1 May 2026, we accept 1 month's notice, in line with your tenancy agreement.
- If your tenancy started on or after 1 May 2026, 2 months' notice is normally required, unless we agree a shorter period in writing.
Worked examples
Example calculation: rent due on the 1st of each month
We receive your notice on 17 October.
1 month's notice
1. Add 1 month: 17 November.
2. Go to the last day of that month: 30 November.
3. Your tenancy ends and your rent stops on 30 November.
2 months' notice
1. Add 2 months: 17 December.
2. Go to the last day of that month: 31 December.
3. Your tenancy ends and your rent stops on 31 December.
These examples are for rent due on the 1st. We'll check your agreement and confirm your own end date.
If your rent payment date has changed, we'll check which date applies.
You must pay rent until your confirmed tenancy end date, even if you move out earlier, unless we agree an earlier end date in writing.
